So You Had a Bad (Hair) Day

bad hair day 1I give you permission to laugh.

It’s okay, really. You can.

The Pinterest Battle this week was simple. Braid sections of hair. Run a flat iron over the braids. And voila! Pretty waves.

I wouldn’t call these pretty waves so much as a crimp gone horribly wrong.

Needless to say, I wore my hair up in a ponytail.

You might be wondering….how did my good friend Becky Wade fare in this particular battle?

Answer: Better than me.

Guess who else joined the fun? Becky’s mom (don’t they look alike?) and her daughter! Becky and I decided that her 12-year old totally pulls it off. Those are what I call pretty waves.

Four challenges in to our eight-week Pinterest War and I have a feeling I’m digging myself into a hole.

Let’s Talk: What’s your solution for a bad hair day?

  1. LOL, oh, your face! πŸ˜›

I actually french braided my hair the other day and wore my hair crimped yesterday (yes, I know it’s not the same as what you did). I tried to take a good picture to show you, but none of them turned out great (translation: I looked blah). Hehe.

You know what’s funny? I was wearing a t-shirt that said, “Can’t Touch This”. A tribute to MC Hammer. When crimping was totally in style!

  3. LOL. Now suddenly I have a desire to buy a crimper. I used to have one from when I was in grade school, but some guys borrowed it in college and never gave it back. Yes, guys. I wish I was joking.

  4. Love your expression in that pic, Katie. Thanks for the smile to start my day.

My solution for a bad hair day, in one word: hat. πŸ™‚

Glad the hairdo at least brought some laughter to people’s days!

OK. I laughed. And now Cohen wants to know what I’m laughing out loud about! Judging by the pics, looks like thicker hair works better…so yeah, um, definitely NOT a look I should try!

  7. Oh my word, so cute. I always fix a bad hair day by going the opposite way of curling–straightening! I use the straightener to straighten–and keep me sane. Curly hair ain’t always all it’s cracked up to be! Especially if you’ve moved to a place where no one seems to know how to cut it!

  8. IF your next challenge is a cheesecake or perhaps re-finishing an antique…CALL ME!!

  9. I like it! I think it’s a great look, Katie! πŸ™‚ I have so much hair, there’s really no “good” or “bad” hair day for me. It’s always the same. I love your Pinterest Wars! Great idea. πŸ™‚

  10. LOL! I laughed at the expression on your face most of all. I think I missed a battle along the lines, I’m going to hit back posts to see how those turned out. πŸ˜‰

It’s not so bad, Katie! πŸ™‚ any of you, really. Fine women here! My bad hair day solution… Sloppy bun.

Way to be nice, Amy! πŸ™‚ And the sloppy bun is always faithful.
