Vlogging: Round Three

The fun continues! Or at least I hope you’re having fun with me. This question is from Esther and includes a sneak peek into a scene from my upcoming novel, Wishing on Willows (releasing April, 2013).

So you see, my love-affair with romance started at a young age.

If you have any questions you’d like me to answer via vlog, please either write them in the comments section or shoot me an email. And if you’d like to see previous vlogs, you can subscribe to my youtube channel.

    Hi Katie –

This vlogging is so much fun!

I get a lot of inspiration as I'm drifting off to sleep, journaling, and going through life.

    Blessings,
    Susan πŸ™‚

Ideas come to me while driving too. I sometimes have my kids write them down so I won't forget πŸ™‚
    Another great vlog Katie!

I didn't even answer your question earlier. Romance. All things romance. I like to break rules and border on Contemporary Romance and Romantic Suspense. Because I'm heavier on the romance, I can't technically call what I write suspense according to rule makers.

I love your vlogging, Katie! And, I must say, I'm with Wendy. I get my inspiration in the shower. So much so that I asked my husband to get me a underwater diving tablet for me for my birthday so I can make notes in the shower.

Goodness, Katie, you are so stinkin' beautiful! You are rocking this vlogging thing! πŸ™‚ You might just inspire me to jump in soon….once I overcome my fear of cameras (minor detail).

I love how your scene idea came about and now I'm dying to read it! For me, I love to read and write contemporary romance with a little bit of humor and little bit of grit (or sometimes a lot).

Mercy, I think Wendy's loopy bug hit me…I'm just realizing that this time next week, I'll be hanging with you all. Can't wait! πŸ™‚

You know me–I'm all things romance. Historical, contemporary, suspense.

Love the vlog, can't wait to see you in person next week, and can't wait to hear more about the details of this little paranormal idea you've got going on. πŸ™‚

I love romance as well. It's good in every category.

A lot can be incorporated with romance too. It's a great genre that everyone can relate too. :O)

Love your vlogs, Katie! I write romance too, and I currently write contemporary romance. If I ever branched off to another genre, it would definitely be historical romance, but I don't plan on doing that anytime soon!

Nowaday is a word, isn't it? If it isn't, than I'm guilty of using it too!

Love these vlogs! πŸ™‚ You rock it!

I read and write historical romance, as you know. πŸ™‚ I love the history, the rich settings, the limitations and the HISTORY! πŸ˜€

I'd say you have the vlogging thing down. Nice job! I write historical romance and also Amish. Real places inspire me, because everywhere I go I know others have been there before and their stories are trapped in the layers of wallpaper. If I pick at the seam long enough, one of them comes out.

    Yeah, I've read that scene!

    Nowaday. πŸ˜€

I'm inspired in the shower. Throw that into one of your romances. πŸ˜‰

It's Friday, I'm clearly all amped up for a goofy mood day.

I have recently switched to what I think is woman's fiction with a literary bent if that's possible. I fell into it because it's the kind of book I read. I also need a page turner, so I am focusing on keeping myself very VERY interested as I write this book. Any time I am bored with the writing, I cut that bit and move on to the next scene.

I absolutely love underdog come back stories filled with mysteries and lies that the main character must uncover. Usually there is a bit of fantasy or unrealistic cont. πŸ™‚
