3 C’s – It’s Friday!

Cares:
My son has learned two new things. The first: blowing kisses. Our daycare provider taught him and it has to be the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen. I could blow kisses at him and watch him blow kisses back for an hour straight and smile the entire time. The second: climbing down the stairs backward! This is truly a huge relief, as I was quite afraid for some time that he might break his neck going face-first.

In the spirit of Follow Friday, may I suggest (if you already aren’t acquainted) Jody Hedlund’s blog? She’s a an inspiration. She’s got three books coming out with Bethany House, the first scheduled to release sometime next fall, and generously shares her journey toward publication on her blog.

Concerns:
None for me. But my friend still needs prayer. She just found out that her last remaining friend where she lives is pregnant. She’s surrounded by pregnant women and she’s still waiting.

Celebrations:
I’m done with Parent Teacher conferences (at least until February)! On Tuesday and Thursday, I didn’t get home from work until nine at night. My brain had turned to overcooked porridge. It’s such a relief to be finished. Today is a comp day, so I’m enjoying my time off, cuddling with my son, and sneaking some words into my WIP (hopefully).

Question to Ponder: What are your cares, concerns, and celebrations this fine Friday morning?

The Winner: The winner of Erica Vetsch’s The Bartered Bride is Tamika! Tamika, if you could shoot me an email at keganshert@gmail.com with your home address, then I’ll get that book off in the mail to you. You’re going to love it!removetweetmeme

    Congrats Tamika.

My concerns this week were about being unplugged without it being my choice because of shocking internet connection whilst away on holidays. But then I turned that into a celebration by deciding to see it as a reminder to connect with my family during this special week away πŸ™‚

Thanks for the comment about my poetry. That made me smile. I guess I don't really take my poetry that seriously. It is just how I clear out my head in between prose writing. But maybe one day I will be blessed enough to have opportunity to birth those words too πŸ™‚

    Katie,
Isabel just learned how to blow kisses too! So fun!! I love that Brogan has figured out how to go down stairs. I'm sure that's a relief. Isabel has had almost no practice with stairs. The new house will be interesting! I can't wait to have you and Brogan over to play! Do you think they'll like the tree house? πŸ™‚

I love the blowing kisses stage. How cute!

I'm celebrating because my hubby is home from being out of town for a week. It's kind of melted away any other concerns. πŸ˜€

Thanks for the Follow Friday, Katie! I appreciate it so much!! I hope you can enjoy your Friday and get in a few extra words on your WIP.

I'm sending prayers for your friend. Congratulations on the blowing kisses. Next to that my favorite thing was hearing my boys say, "I love you." Melts your heart! Have a great weekend.

Woohoo for you! I'm glad you get some time off!

I'm in the middle of all the stuff I've mentioned before–trying to find a place to live, a roommate, and raise support for that. The place I'm moving to is 90 minutes away. Right now I'm traveling up there once a week (and staying overnight), learning as much of the new job as possible. Not stressed out, just amazed at all that is going on!

    Have a great weekend!

Awwwwww! Blow that little guy a kiss for me!

Waiting when everyone around you seems to be getting what you want is so hard. Like being the last one in a crit group to get a contract and wondering what it is about YOU that keeps your dream from being fulfilled.

Yay for Tamika! Congrats on winning the book. I hope you enjoy reading it.

For me, my to-do list is slamming me right now. That's my big care/concern right now.

Jody won't let me write it, but she's a wise woman of words. I stand by that! πŸ˜€

    Blowing kisses…too cute!

Cares: Important church meeting this weekend.
Concerns: Need to establish more regular meetings with my youth girls.
Celebrations: I…am…slow…close…to…the…end…of….my…first…draft of my WIP. I can taste it.

    Know you are loved,
    Wendy

I love hearing how Brogan is growing. What a fun age!

Cares: I've been working hard all week at not investing ALL of my emotional energy into my writing career. Although I feel peaceful now, I'm worried I'll slip right back! That's what prayer is for…

Concerns: None for myself, but the news events of the last few days disturbs me. I'm praying for all of the people losing loved ones to senseless violence.

Celebrations: I'm at peace right now.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Sending a little protective bubble of good thoughts towards your friend…

Concerns: apparently the high school that I like takes kids at the nursery school level (age 3+) which means that if I want my daughter to have the best chance of being a teenager at this school, I have to apply NOW, while she's still age 2. This is so disturbing to me…

I love Jody and I love the idea of follow Friday! My three C's?
Cares, I broke a rib years ago and all of a sudden it kills again. OK a prayer would be nice πŸ˜‰

Concerns: that maybe I have no clue what direction the Lord will take me in regarding my writing.

Celebrations; My family is doing well and my house is finally clean.=)

Awww, that's so cute about the kisses. My two year old just learned to pucker and kiss. It took him forever. LOL
I hope you enjoy your day. πŸ™‚

My son is blowing kisses too and saying, "I love you". Well, it sounds more like, "Wuv Wu", but it still has the same effect. πŸ™‚ I'm hoping he'll master the stair thing soon.

Yay for interviews to be over and for blowing kisses and backward (much safer) stair climbing. Always loved seeing my little ones butts getting closer and closer!!

    Have a great weekend, Katie!

Blowing kisses. So cute. My Eldest learned to wave on a trip to KY to visit friends. She was a little over a year old. So fun to watch her wave and to see people wave back.
