While Becky’s final result may look prettier than mine, please let it be known that I did not start any fires while making my candle jar like some people I know.
I think you should take exhibit A (AKA, Becky’s charred first attempt) into account before deciding on a winner:
We give this one a B- for kid-friendly, because of the fire incident (although that was Becky, not her children).
A B+ for easiness. The right supplies can be a bit tricky to find. Hence, Becky’s “jar”.
And a C for beauty/resemblance to the original. Neither of us are rushing to display these on our nightstands.
Thanks to all who participated! The results that have been posted on my Facebook page are leaps and bounds better than anything Becky and I created.
Oh, and Becky’s daughter gets an A+ for innovation and fire-safety.
She put her paper on the outside of the jar.
Join us next week for our 7th Pinterest Challenge! We all just might pick up a new beauty secret.

Writing 4 Two is interviewing me on their blog today and giving away a copy of Wishing on Willows!
I like the red candle in yours. Adds a touch of color – and red is a nice one.(My nail polish color right now, wouldn’t you know. π Oh and the color of the rope goes with it too!
Although I found that Becky chose a good inspiration… (please see post on this blog – Monday’s, I think) I’ll go with Katie’s.
Good stuff! I’m enjoying this Pininterest battle.
It pains me to say it, but I do believe Katie’s the clear winner of this week’s challenge. Not only did my first attempt at the candle jar catch on fire but I had no Mason jars. This will come as a surprise to no one but this city girl doesn’t do a lot of canning and jelly making. π
I stopped by the Dollar Store in search of Mason jars and when they told me they had none, I decided life and my patience were too short to drag a 3 year old around town in search of them. Thus, I used a glass.
Will attempt to redeem myself next week! I’ll be bringing my A game, Katie!
I don’t even have a nightstand LOL but if I did, I would keep a DaySpring daybrightener so I could read it every morning/night and I would keep a vase of beautiful artificial flowers nestled in blue or purple marble accents/pebbles.
Crafty! –I wish I was crafty π
Cute ideas thought. Love the posts with you and Becky!
Dear sweet, darling Katie. Bragging that you DID NOT START A FIRE is not exactly how to win points in a craft smackdown.
Although, it IS pretty, isn’t it? Kudos to Becky’s daughter for having the grown-up brains…oops…CREATIVITY…to put the paper on the outside.
Hey, Jennifer – you HAVE seen how this Pinterest War’s been going right? I have to use everything at my disposal at this point! And if Becky Wade started a fire, well then…it’s worth pointing it out. That’s all I’m sayin’. π
And yeah…..the little children will lead us.
LOL! Not necessarily a project I’d probably attempt. Pretty outcome though! π
