The Ultimate Author

No, I’m not talking about Karen Kingsbury or Steven King. I’m talking about Yaweh, Yeshua, Abba, Wonderful Counselor, Alpha and Omega, Savior, King, Creator, Maker, Friend. The author of the universe. The author of salvation.

My prayer today, tomorrow, and for as long as I write Christian fiction is not that I would make it big in the publishing industry, not that I would write a best seller, but that I would write books that bring glory to the God who wrote everything first. The God who penned creation, who inscribed the universe in all its vastness, the ocean in all its mystery, the mountains in all their majesty, and the thousands of sunsets that paint our skies every evening. He created them all. And as glorious as all these are, how much more glorious is the Author who wrote them?

I pray my writing will always be a reflection of the ultimate Author.removetweetmeme

    Katie,
He will definitely answer your prayer to write something, with the intention of glorifying Him ultimately.

Katie, that's so true. No internet = raised word count, or editing big time!

Hey everybody! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate all the comments and love readng them! And Jeannie – thanks for the encouragement!

I have been without internet these past two days. It's supposedly getting fixed tomorrow. I'm currently writing this comment from my brother and sister-in-law's house. I'm hoping to be back online tomorrow!

I've gotten a lot of revising done in the meantime… it's amazing how much you can get done without the internet distracting you!!

It's great to find someone else who isn't going to fret about where writing is taking her because she knows God has his own destination in mind for her.

I'm a Christian writing for both the sacred and secular market, published in magazines but not yet with my novels. I have a friend who doesn't like to hear me say "it doesn't matter if and when this gets published" because she's sure I'm jinxing my chances. But it's de-stressing to know that I can write and leave the 'why' and 'when' to him.

I just skipped over from Rachelle's blog party to say hi. I enjoyed this peek at your blog and will be back to check it out again.

Yep Amen! Totally share those thoughts. I remember earlier on when I was really struggling with my writing I wished I had the money for a writing mentor, but we didn't. Then the thought occurred to me that I know, love and worship the greatest author there will ever be-God! The Bible has never been out sold (I think that is still true) and some 2000 odd years after he walked the earth the words in His book are still relevant today! And like you said in your post today, God is the author of everything. The author of life itself. I felt a quite peace inside me knowing that ultimately God is able to direct my path and my writing and what becomes of what I write is in His hands. More than that it is for His ultimate glory.
Wonderful post Katie. Nice to find another Christian writer:)
