Did you know the snowier the winter, the more abundant the wildflowers are in the spring and summer?
I love when truth reveals itself in nature.
Because this is truth.
God uses the dormant seasons in our life, the harsh seasons in our life, to bring about beautiful things. Breathtaking things.
Like a once-snowy field bursting with wildflowers.
Which is why I’m so pleased with the title of my debut novel.
Wildflowers from Winter releases May, 2012 through Waterbrook Multnomah.
My baby has a name. A real-live name. I hope you like it.
Let’s Talk:Β What truths do you see in nature?
Congrats on your success!
I see all truths in Nature. The most heady is that mankind is not alone, that we didn't create everything, and that it's not all about us.
I have this giant tree outside my window, which seems very God-like to me, though I can't tell you why I think so. I call it The Majestic Maple Tree–and it's not maple. But it sure is majestic.
I see God-like tranquility in New Hampshire's Swift River, too. Don't know why, but I see and feel a Presence in both things.
I am late on this one, but fantastic choice Katie.
Ack! Just now got a chance to read this! LOVE LOVE the title! CONGRATS Katie!!!!!!
Hi Katie –
Great title! I love when a name carries so much meaning.

Susan π

Gorgeous. Gives me tingles.
Beautiful title Katie! Can't wait to read it!
God's truth in Nature: God is an amazing artist. Lakes always reflect the canvas of His skies.
Great title! And many congrats on your debut novel!
Love the title, Katie! And you're right, "God uses the dormant seasons in our life, the harsh seasons in our life, to bring about beautiful things. Breathtaking things." Definitely something to cling to as we journey through those 'winter' times. Congratulations on your book! God bless!
It's definitely a "grabber," Katie! So happy for you, and anxious to *get me one of these!
Killer!
Love, love, love the title.
Wildflowers from Winter.
Beautiful.
It speaks of hope.
What truths do I see in nature?
Life has cycles to it.
Beauty is accessible to all. (Think of hikes along beaches. Or in mountains. Or even just around your neighborhood.)
So, so happy for you, friend.
Ooh, I have goosebumps! LOVE!
Congratulations! That's a beautiful title.
LOVE IT! No wonder you're excited. π Now I am going to be eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the cover art.

Jan – my story centers around a farm! You should be able to relate to my characters!
As a farmers wife, I love the way nature teaches us. Congrats on your title – it's lovely. The birth of a new book is always so exciting to me – even if it's not my own. It's just so nice to see the process moving on and on. Just like nature.
Kelley – wish I could take more credit, but truth is, I can hardly take any credit at all! I tried my best to brainstorm title ideas for the editorial team, but I didn't give them much to work with! They came up with this one on their own. All I had to do was approve!
I can't wait to read it!!
Love the title! Can't wait to read it!
Did you come up with it, or was it a team effort?
