3 C’s – It’s Friday

Cares:
First week back at school. Got my kiddos on Wednesday. Bright and shiny and new. So far, they seem like a sweet-spirited group of students with a couple super quirky kids to make things interesting. Busy, busy. Lots to do. Have that I’m-running-around-with-my-head cut off feeling.

I miss all my Brogan-time.

Concerns:
I’ve been irritable with hubby at night. Transitioning from summer to work isn’t easy. Every morning when I pray, I have such good intentions. “Lord, help me be a blessing to Ryan today.” Then the day comes and goes, I get home late from work to a messy house and a what’s-for-dinner conversation and I end up snapping at him. I don’t want to be that wife.

Celebrations:
Resuming my 4 am wake up schedule was not as hard as I thought it would be.

My class. One of my girls wants to be an author when she grows up.

I love our daycare provider, which is a huge blessing.

Question to Ponder: What are your cares, concerns, and celebrations today?removetweetmeme

When we're stretched too tightly the eventual snap usually hits those closest to us. Good thing they love us despite our shortcomings. 😉 I hope your days smooth out as you settle into routine again.

Three C's? This week they all center on writing. Trying to keep to a reasonable schedule with so many summery interruptions. Making a looming contest deadline. *Finally* discovering the topic I want to write about for the contest. (Yay!!)

Katie, I had one of those little writers last year. She would come up with the most creative ideas. I always loved to read her work. Blessings to you as you nurture her talent and hopes.

Cares – need to get back on a writing routine (need to actually HAVE one).

Concerns – getting the boys ready to go back to school. Here in MN we don't start until after Labor Day.

Celebrations – had a great summer, looking forward to fall and some great writing opportunities.

Maybe over the weekend, you and hubby could talk about expectations with you working full-time.

It sounds like you have a great group of kids! And boy do I remember being cranky with DH after a long day at work. I really could not handle the mess that the house was quick becoming. *sigh it never really ends*

Care; My calender for August, September and now October is quickly filling up.

Concern; I'll never shake this sore throat. I refuse to go on antibiotics. =) I'm stubborn sometimes.

Celebrations; I am LOVING editing my novel. Secretly I was dreading it but now I see there's nothing to fear.

    Have a great weekend Katie!!

Hi Katie! I remember how stressful it was go to back to school! It'll get easier (as you know!). And, I pray so many days to be a blessing to my husband and then two hours later I wonder what happened. Hang in there.

So been there, K! But we know that Christ is our hope! And as we grow to be more like Him, sometimes it hurts! So the good news is that you're aware of the struggle, because to not struggle would mean defeat, right? And I love Eph. 6:12 which says our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Translation? God is just calling us to more fervent, faithful prayer—which is a joy! Only He can take our trials and make them a blessing, huh?! love you, girl!

Cares – Getting the eldest off to college one week from today.

Concerns – Getting youngest and me into our school routine and sorting out ninth grade for the first time for him and now the third time for me. This one might be the hardest of all.

Celebrations – Finally finished the synopsis of a new project and now diving into those first, all-important three chapters.

Yay! Another future novelist! Encourage that girl as much as you can – it will make all the difference in her world.

Celebrations: My book seems to be coming together in my head and I've hardly sat down to plot it out!

Katie, I'm glad the new school year is off to a good start. How cool that one of your students wants to be a writer. I'm sure your encouragement will be special to her. Years from now, she may well look back on this time and recall how you made a huge difference in her life. We don't forget those who took our dreams seriously and gave us the support we needed. May you enjoy a wonderful year with your young charges.

I can be a husband snapper too, and I hate it! I think mine is usually worse when I have weird physical stuff going on (which has been for the past 3+ years between pregnancies and surgeries). My dear hubby is such a huge help with the kids. I'm working on expressing how much I appreciate him instead of telling him what he did wrong. 🙂

Cares/Concerns: Hope the Young One can work out a schedule with the company who hired her. They just told her she can't work Sat and Sun (that's what they originally hired her for). She'll still work Sat, but will have to pick 2 – five hour shifts during the week. Not sure this will work in with her college schedule She starts college 8/22

Celebration: Himself finished Summer school. He's on vacation as of today until Labor Day.

I bet the hubby sniping will ease up once you get back in the swing of your school routine.

Wow! School sounds like woah – I like your little writer already.
It's always easiest to snap at the hubby, I think. Anyone we love most. My husband is absolutely fantabulous and I still do it – like you I can't stand doing it. Always gunna struggle with the flesh this side of heaven…

My CCCs: Edits, Edits, & Edits. 😀 The last two days have been my best editing days so far!

  16. Terri Tiffany

4am?? UGH. And I'm having a hard time getting up at 6:30.
I am happy to say my husband's school break starts tomorrow for two weeks so we can FINALLY maybe go to the beach a day and do some day trips together!

Cares – WriteonCon was AWESOME! It was truly the highlight of my week. (And now I was not paid to say that…though I will accept money for doing so. LOL) But after a hard day of trying to get everything done it was good to know that a group of writers was waiting for me on the web with a wealth of info. *swoons*

Concerns – It's been a rough week. I'm afraid I have over extended myself but I don't want to give anything up. I hope that I am able to find a happy medium between all my responsibilities soon.

Celebrations – School starts soon, which means 6 uninterrupted hours of silence every day!

Congrats on a great class with a budding young Author Katie! Hope the year goes well 🙂

I LOVE your honesty, dear one.

Hmmm. I have lots of concerns hanging over me like a shroud.

    Friends who are ill.
    Friends with bad news.
    Deadlines.
A virusy thingie on my computer.

But God reigns in heaven above.
And that celebration will trump all!!!

Blessings, dear one!! (P.S. be easy on hub.)

Oh Katie, I'm glad you're upbeat about your new class. I've been that woman. But I know what you mean…it's not enjoyable to see myself in that light.

Cares: Going camping in Maine for the first time…on Friday the 13th!!!
    Concerns: Rethinking a work.
Celebrations: I found a verse that poured such hope in me. I think I'll post it on Mon. (like how I keep you hanging like that? 😉

Enjoy the weekend, Katie. Hope you can go on a date.

Oh that sounds a bit tough! I am glad you like Brogan's day care provider though. That really makes a difference. And if you are happy he will be too 🙂

My cares: REWRITING MY MEMOIR FOR THE FOURTH TIME BECAUSE AN AGENT SAID SHE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE REWRITES!!!! AHHHHH!!!

Yep, slightly concerned about that one 🙂
