Cares:
I’m hitting the airwaves. I will be joining The Conversation (Faith Radio) at noon today for an hour of laughter and fun conversation. We’ll chat about my debut novel, faith, and romance. If you miss it, you can listen online in the archives. These ladies are a blast!
I’m visiting on Heather Gilbert’s blog today. She asks me questions about marketing, social media, and my writing journey.
I love when God uses our disappointments to reveal His grace.
Concerns:
So You Think You Can Dance’s new format is concerning me. I am not a fan. If the show fails, I blame Nigel.
Celebrations:
I signed a copy of my debut novel for Beth Moore! Gotta love unexpected, fun opportunities.
Revising is going well! No walls yet. Hoping they stay far away. Hoping to finish the BIG revisions by Monday. Then take another couple weeks to work out the smaller ones.
I love having my hubby home from work. I’m already dreading the day he returns.
Let’s Talk: What are your cares, concerns, and celebrations this week?
Bubba is not amused. Brogan, on the other hand, thought it was hilarious.
Beth Moore?! For real? That is awesome. Good for you. This is my first round of triple C’s so here goes…
Cares: family vacation coming up, want so much for our time together to be sweet and meaningful.
Concerns: so much invested in one vacation, worried some of the family’s big issues will cast a dark cloud on our week together.
Celebrations: my second son was so sad to leave home and start full-day kindergarten this week but by Friday he went and came home with a happy heart. Praise God!
Yay for the first round of 3 C’s! I hope you come back each Friday! It’s a fun way to catch up with each other.
Hoping your family vacay is wonderful and praising God for your boy adjusting!
I especially loved the Badger Hat picture. What a cutie. (He must have been off the sugar to stand so still.) 🙂
You and Beth Moore. I can see you two together in a room for six hours straight, with no pause – only stopping the conversation to grab your sides and fall back on your double beds. (You are in a very lovely hotel room.)
Bubba is way cool.
Cares: Mustering the courage to continue working on a memoir.
I love that picture too, Patti. I just want to kiss his cheeks whenever I look at it.
Keep on keepin’ on, friend. I can imagine memoirs are not easy to write! A lot of emotion there.
I love the photos. I’m also wondering about this new SYTYCD setup. This week, it was pretty clear they already had their minds made up about who they would kick off. It just seems rigged.
I totally agree, Julie! It felt so BIASED!
Hi Katie,
Difficult season for me right now for many reasons but God is gentle even when others aren’t. I love what you said about God using our disappointments to reveal His grace. So true.
Cares: God’s taken out the pruning shears…and they’re the big ones.
Concerns: It hurts.
Celebrations: God gave me a vision of blessing – His covering and light in the darkest part of the night. A promise of His presence in my life that left me humbled and amazed. He chooses me. He chooses each one of us. I’m celebrating that life-changing, life-giving truth.
Continuing to pray for healing for your men, but also for blessing during this precious time when you’re home together.
Hey Becky – those pruning sheers sure can be really painful. So glad that in the midst of it, you are feeling His presence and his blessings.
Cares: the mounting to-do list that (at least in my own mind) needs to be completed before our sweet pea arrives in T-2 weeks (or less)!
Concerns: Praying for a peaceful and quick transition to a new normal in our family, and especially for peace and unity between me and the hubs as we tend to both melt down emotionally and spiritually during these times of stressful transition!
Celebrations: Will spare everyone the details 😉 but at 38 weeks, my body is already preparing quite nicely for the birth of baby girl (compared to not budging until being induced at 42 wks with my first)! That was a HUGE concern of ours heading down the homestretch of this pregnancy.
I can’t believe it’s right around the corner, Kinsey!!
Signing a book for Beth Moore- I would be super excited!
Cares- working on my MS and query- praying for an agent/publisher.
Concerns- My father-in-law is about to go through round 2 of Chemo.
Celebrations- God answers our prayers, I’m humbled by all the wonderful blessings He provides daily!
So sorry about your father-in-law. 🙁 Praying the chemo works.
Love your celebrations. 🙂
Oh my word, BETH MOORE!!! That is cooler than cool! And thanks so much for your insightful, encouraging post on my blog! I loved interviewing you and will refer to your answers often!
I loved being there, Heather! thanks for asking such great questions!
Love the pictures, petting the puppies brought back some memories, and running through the water will cool me off later when the temps inch up to the three digit.
Cares: Finishing Follow the Sun, an agent is willing to look at it, but must finish it first. Have the ending third figured out, just having trouble with the middle. Must get her “with child” a couple of times, and have said children born. 🙂
Concerns: Getting past Monday, the 23, it’s a tough day for me.
Celebrations: One of the grands turns 3 and I get to be there!
Thinking about you on this day, Nita.
Fun news about the agent and your book!
Aw, looks like you’re having a great summer, Katie!
Cares: Plotting a new book and doing revisions to the current so it’s in tiptop shape for ACFW.
Concerns: I have a lot on my plate: working full time, writing/revising, teaching an online English course, and hanging out with different people who want to meet up. I want to balance it all and leave time for fun too.
Celebrations: My husband just got home from a business trip last night! We got pizza and watched TV. It was heavenly. 🙂 Hey, it’s the small things, right?
Totally the small things. I love watching TV and eating pizza with my hubba-dub-dubs.
Hey Bubba! My girls drape all kinds of blankets on our dog and sometimes we don’t walk down to the basement & see until quite a while later.
I love when Steve’s home. And too cool about Beth Moore. I’ve done so many of her studies.
Cares: Doing justice to my MS as I edit.
Concerns: Family drama (blech…me not a fan of drama).
Celebrations: Steve goes to Haiti next week. I’m proud of him. Also, a dear friend helped me figure out a stuck spot in my MS. Kudos to that mysterious friend! 😀
~ Wendy
I’m so with you on the drama. Not a fan either. Thinking about you lots, Wendy-girl.
Getting out of sticky spots is the BEST!!
Love the pics and how cool about your book, radio, and Beth Moore! Love it!
Cares: School is starting back on August 6th, and I’m praying for great teachers, friends, and that my kids will get their butts out of bed without giving me grief. It’s a legit care!
Concern: See the above statement. I think it’s both. 🙂
Celebrations: I’ve had a great turn out for the FORWARD class at church and am getting great responses from those who are doing the study! Grateful and humbled to be used!
Woohoo! So glad is using your words to encourage new believers, Jessica!
Haha, hilarious photo of Bubba. 🙂 Ridiculously cool that you got to sign a copy of your book for Beth Moore!
Cares: Time. Time. Time! And how to schedule it all.
Concerns: Did I mention time? J/K Actually, in all seriousness, I know someone who was recently diagnosed with not much time to live. I can’t imagine…and am praying for a miracle.
Celebrations: Writing progress…excitement…hopes!
To hopes! And to more time!
Cares: Trying to write 1K a day so I have first draft finished by ACFW but life keeps getting in the way… and on that note am getting angsty about booking my flights but am praying a good deal comes up soon because the current price of $2500 is a little steep (plus less money on flights = more money for books!)
Concerns: The ninja has been sick for two months. Trips to the doctor, antibiotics, natural remedies and nothing has cleared it up and we’re all exhausted.
Celebrations: My sister-in-law gets married next weekend and after that we get to go meet our new nephew. Yay for family!
Hi Kara! So excited that you’re going to ACFW! I hope we get to hang out! And whoa baby, I can’t believe the flight is that expensive right now! So sorry about the sickness. 🙁 That is no fun at all.
