RELEASE DAY

Friends. I started writing this book in 2018. 

TWO THOUSAND EIGHTEEN.

My daughter was six. My son was nine. It was the first young adult novel I wrote after completing The Gifting Series, which was a magical series to write. I was operating under the delusion that this must mean ALL young adult novels would be magical to write.

Friends, this story was as stubborn as a herd of mules! Not to mention, I started writing it at a time when my mental health wasn’t great. I was in the throes of some hefty burnout only I didn’t realize it was burnout. I finished the rough draft and then put it in a drawer. Put my whole writing career in a drawer, actually. I needed a break. And when I decided to come back to it, our world was on the cusp of a global pandemic that would ultimately:

1. Throw my post-writing-hiatus plans out my naive little window
   
   
2. Bring my mental health to a tipping point. This forced me to take some proactive steps that ended up being the very best steps I ever could have taken and in a strange plot twist, righted the plane and got me going as a writer again.

In June of 2021, I released Luka, a companion novel to The Gifting Series. It was my first book release since No One Ever Asked, which came out in 2018. In September of 2021, I followed this up with The Contest. And now … FINALLY, I am able to share this story with the world. This stubborn, uncooperative story that refused to let me go and ended up bringing so much fun and creativity and excitement into my life. I’m so proud of how it turned out. I’m so very excited to share book 2 in September and I’m currently working on the final installment which I hope to release in December!

Until then, here is Book 1. The Fabrication of Eden Pruitt. A story that has taken on so many different iterations before finally, finally, finally sticking the landing. GAH! I’m so excited. I’m so happy. I’m so very thankful for all the people who came alongside me throughout this process.
