3 C’s – It’s Friday!

Cares:
I’m getting oddly comfortable here in the land of waiting. I suppose it’s because I’m occupying my mind with another story. A stubborn story. And waiting with no answer is better than getting the wrong kind of answer. It could always be worse.

Please pray for my friend, Krista, who is nearing her third trimester and found out some news about her baby girl’s heart.

Concerns:
I have to work tonight until 5:30 to make up for a snow day. Bleck. But this means we’ll still finish up the school year before Memorial Day, so I suppose it’s worth it.

Celebrations:
My mom read Wishing on Willows. I know she’s my mom and she’s biased, but she is so encouraging. She calls me with all this very specific feedback. She’s not content to just say, “I loved it!” Nope. Not Mom. She remembers all my scenes and tells me exactly what she loved. The woman could win a gold medal for encouragement! It makes the waiting easier.

Last night was the first time we put little man to bed without his pacifier and he did great! Went in for his 18 month checkup yesterday and doc recommended cutting him off.

Question to Ponder: What are your cares, concerns, and celebrations today?removetweetmeme

Nice to hear about your supportive mom, and just before Mom's Day. And, good job with the new transition for little man. Parenting is a series of letting go.

BEFORE Memorial Day? Jealous! We don't get out until June 8th.

Cares: The continued health problems of my step-father

Concerns: The home inspection that needs to be done on our house (even though we know it's ok)

Celebrations: After a full year, our house sold last Sunday! Woo-hoo! πŸ™‚

I have a 'waiting' song I listen to over and over again-While I'm Waiting by John Waller. Helps keeps me remember how and why I'm waiting!

My concern is sore back from too much sitting! But my celebration is the warmer weather so I can walk off the pain (and maybe the chocolate).

Sounds like you have a very encouraging mom!

My concerns- I'm not feeling well. Justs aches and temps. But still not fun.
Celebrations- third draft of book finished πŸ™‚ YEAH!

    Have a good weekend.

    Ive been praying for Krista!
I always get these three C's wrong.
Good thing–have an article coming out next week in Orlando Sentinel for mother's day.
My dad went into the hospital yesterday and got a temp pacemaker put in–he's 86 and not doing well.
I head out next Weds and hate to fly across the country!!

We're also breaking the pipe habit this week with my 2-yr-old girl. Mostly just because we can't find it! She potty trained this week too, and got the knack of it in five days! So it's a big week for her.
Is Wishing on Willows the book you're currently trying to get published, or a different one?
Aren't moms great for support and feedback?? I love that!

I, too, have a Mom who gives great feedback. What a blessing. And I'm so glad you have peace and may it continue. Good news about the passy –
    What a big step!

My cares include my dad's cancer. Concerns – saying good bye to my special and encouraging author friend who's moving. So glad we still have the internet.

Celebrations – I'm still pecking away at my wip.

Hurray for no pacifier (my kids called it a paci)! And yay for such an encouraging mom.

    Cares: Ahhh…Genesis. Yep.

Concerns: Finances (got to save up for two very big events in my life)

    Celebrations: Finished my WIP yesterday!

YAY no more binky!!! Me? Hmmm.

Care, huge party tomorrow and I pray it goes off well.

Concern, that I clean every speck in this house till it sparkles and that my husband heats the pool in time.

Celebration, I guess that's what tomorrow is for! πŸ˜‰

Yay for a new, stubborn story to distract you!

Yay for the little one taking the ban on pacifiers so well.

Yay for Moms who support dreams!

Katie, I'm heartened to hear that you're feeling more at peace with the waiting. Too bad you're new story is being stubborn, although working on it is such a great way to take the focus off the one that's "out there."

Sorry you have to work late. I'm sure you'll be happy to get home to your fellows. Enjoy your weekend.

Sigh. I pray that God eases the waiting pains, dear one.

Cares: some friends struggling with depression and mental issues during the spring. It makes me sad to think they can't enjoy the gorgeous weather.

Concerns: also waiting…on a visa to come through. Supposedly TODAY?

Celebrations: It's FRIDAY!!! Will watch a friend run a half-marathon tomorrow and then eat out!

If you have a chance, stop by my post, which I didn't get up till late! There a poignant poem by my favorite, Mary Oliver, that shares my angst about the Gulf oil spill…

    Blessings,

I just love your mom…give Mary a squeeze for me.

Cares: My teeth seemed to have shifted in the night. A bottom tooth keeps hitting an upper tooth and it's driving me bonkers!
Concerns: Hubby is going for his pastor credentials on Tuesday. He has to face an uber intimidating panel and defend this monster paper he wrote. Between this and all the house stuff, he's pretty stressed.
Celebrations: Severe weather expected today. I got rained on during a run this morning and loved every minute of it. Such a great time of year!

    Hugs,
    H

I like visiting here on Friday b/c it's like a prayer list. I'm in the comfort zone with waiting too. So I feel your patience. πŸ˜‰

Cares: A little thing called Genesis.
Concerns: Figuring out another time to fly to see my mom. My kids cry at the mention of it. I feel torn.
Celebrations: Getting my author pics. soon (yikes another thing to pay for) and I got really cool feedback from a crit. partner yesterday–the specific stuff that gets you right here (points to heart).

    Sending love,
    Wendy

Definitely praying for Krista, hubby and baby Phillips.

I'm also concerned for my hubby and 7-yr old who are going on 7-yr old's first two-night camping trip, and the wether forecast is so bad, that I suspect they'll be back before tomorrow morning – hopeuflly safe and sound.

Congrats on getting rid of the binky! Both of my boys suck their thumbs…yeah. I can't get rid of those!

Too many cares and concerns right now on mind and heart, so I won't use your blog to vent!

Celebrations- my husband is home after being away for two days!

  18. Krista Phillips

Mom's ARE so encouraging… my mom is as well however her feedback is, "Krista, I loved it… but here are all the parts you need to fix." She's a picky mom, ha!!

No binky IS a great milestone! Congrats!!!! We have a firm rule that the binky's go in the trash when you turn 2. We have a "throw away" ceremony… because they are big girls now! THey all did amazingly well, lol!

THANK YOU for your prayers. I really do appreciate it! My cares/concerns are all wrapped up in baby Phillips. Celebrations? Um… it's almost May 1st so the waiting for Genesis results begins… I'm trying to use that to get my mind off things (although I gotta tell you, waiting for GH results was brutal, but somehow contest results aren't near as important to me now.)

    Oh, and…

    IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!! I need a good friday:-)

No binky! What a milestone! A celebration indeed if he slept through the night.

    Awwww! Awesome mom. πŸ™‚

That's really good if Brogan didn't need his pacifier. My oldest had one and he had a seizure because of a horrible double ear infection. The doc said pacifiers can cause ear infections, something about drool and sucking and the middle ear. πŸ™‚
Anyway, good for your little guy!

Hope you have a great Friday and don't get too exhausted.
