Cares:
Check out Wendy’s blog at All in a Day’s Thought. She’s a soulful writer with a knack for spinning ordinary, every-day things into something fresh and insightful. Plus, she’s a super awesome, authentic woman who I happen to like a lot.
Revisions are still chugging away. I’m having it out with the ending right now. Hope to wrap up those big revisions/rewrites next week so I can work on line-editing (my favorite part of editing!) soon.
My agent’s query-hiatus ends today. I have a feeling she’s going to be absolutely slammed with emails. Pray for her sanity!
Concerns:
Haiti.
Celebrations:
My lil’ man Brogan won his first award! Go check it out at Patti Lacy’s blog.
I’m reading Bonnie Grove’s Talking to the Dead and soaking up every minute of it. I love finding talented authors.
A God who loves me despite my human-inclination to mess things up. A husband who goes the extra mile to make my life easier. A son who saturates the air with giggles. A church that challenges me to grow and learn. A home. Food in my belly. A secure job and great health insurance. A writing future filled with possibilities. To say I’m blessed might possibly be the biggest understatement of the year.
You!!
Question to Ponder: What are your cares, concerns, and celebrations today?
Cares: My husband and family
Concerns: Haiti, and my friends & families health
Celebrations: Starting my blog & meeting such great people!
Love your blog and I look forward to following you!
Katie: I agree, Wendy is inspired and an inspriation. Try to say that three times fast!
My concerns: Haiti, especially the orphans.
Cares: The last 3 chaps of my WIP, which I'm wrestling with, and a hospital charge I'm having to fight. Arrgghhh.
Celebrations: My life. My relationship with Jesus. My family, especially my hus, who puts up with me day and night for 35 years; imagine! He gets the biggest trophy ever made! And you. When I'm tempted to feel sorry for myself, I think of people like you, Katie, who work all day in a classroom, go home to grade papers and change diapers, then sit down to work on revisions. You inspire me!
I have a gift for you on my blog π
I love every single one of your celebrations! I also adore my son's giggles! I have to check into that book the next time I am at B&N!

First Friday Fiction
I saw your comment on Jody Hedlund's 1/22 post and saw that you were going to be talking about blogging on your Monday 1/25 post. Now I'll have to follow your blog so I don't miss it. I have been posting on the topic of blogging for nearly 2 months every Monday in a series I've called "Blog Boggled". I always enjoy reading about this subject on other blogs because I am seriously trying to figure this blog thing out to see what the benefits are and how I can make the experience better. I am looking forward to seeing what you have to say in comparision to what I've been talking about.

I love your sentence about your son saturating the air with his giggles! What a verb choice!
Enjoy your week off. Sounds good!
Good luck with the ending. I'm sure you'll figure it out just the right way. And what fun about Brogan's award. It's never too early to be a proud mama.

Yay Brogan!! Those glasses were good for more than just eyesight, after all! What a sweetie-pie…kiss those cheeks for Aunt Holly π
Good luck with your revisions, Kate. I can't wait to read it…ready for another good book!
Cares: Well, the infertility diagnosis procedures are officially underway. I have one particularly scary procedure scheduled for Wednesday morning. Ugh.

My brain cells are all used up and it's only 10 AM. So I'll just say have a great week next week!

Care; that the money in Haiti now gets routed in the best manner possible. God have mercy please!
Concerns; that my new WIp will not have a killer plot Must brainstorm. I have to get this book right. All my hopes hinge on it. COuld I get more dramatic.
Celebrations; I hired a writing coach. I feel very blessed.
I love Talking to the Dead. What a great book!
Cares: Big changes coming soon. There's a lot to do. I'll explain more on my blog Monday.
Have a great unplug week!
Hey! So glad to hear you are enjoying Talking to the Dead. I'm honored by your kind words.
Peace!
Also concerned about Haiti, although I do have a celebration from it. My aunt's brother was serving there on a short-term mission. They didn't hear from him for the first day and feared the worst. He managed to get an internet connection and sent an email saying he was safe with provisions for a couple days. Now he's deciding whether to come back home or stay and help.
On the home front, I'm celebrating the fact that my husband takes care of our little man in the morning so I can catch some extra Z's (can't seem to get enough of those these days).
Such an awesome post. I'm concerned about Haiti, I'm celebrating that it's Friday and that I have so many blessings, and I care about far too many things to list them. π
I'm killing myself trying to keep up with everything, or so it seems. So, actually this is my eternal spirit writing this comment. π
Really, I'm loving my new story and am making great progress, but I think I'm going to have to cut back on my word count goals in order to complete my rewrites. Cut back, not stop! And I did answer your question on my blog! In a nutshell, I think you're doing the right thing to focus on editing.
Katie,
You broke the dam. I've been holding back tears…tears for Haiti, tears of doubt, insecurity, frustration…blech…that list could go on. And then I land here. I read your words about me. THANK YOU. All I can say is that OUR GOD IS SO GOOD. He knows what we need when.
You filled in that place of need, Katie. You spoke on His behalf and I love you for that! You uplifted me today. I'll probably come back a dozen times to read your words. Again, thanks!
Cares: Our sponsor kids in Haiti. I'm sad.
Concerns: See above.
Celebrations: Our God is so good and He's all over Haiti right now…in the hands of tired doctors, the tears of those craddling those who've lost, the mouths of those praying for those not found. There will be a day with Him in heaven. I celebrate about that. Some other good things have happened, but I'll write about those another time.
I love you, Katie.

Brogan is absolutely adorable! I know that he will not stop finding himself in the spotlight anytime soon!
Praying for the people of Haiti. Wow. If ever there was a time for the people of God to intercede it is now.
Have a productive unplug week- stop by my place I have something for you!
Oops, I meant nothing is too big for him. Sheesh, maybe I should start my day over. π
Haiti is in my thought and prayers too. Thank goodness our God can fix anything. Nothing is too bog for him. I love him so much.
Congrats to your sweetheart. I'll hop over to Patti's blog right now.
I'm unplugging too. And though I miss all of my dear blogging buds, I relish this time as I am getting ready to query. I need all the spare time I can find to make sure everything SPARKLES!! Have a super weekend Katie. π
Great list, Katie, as usual. Haiti is in my prayers for sure. Congrats to your dear Brogan!!!
Have a great unplug week. May you accomplish much!!
Poor Rachel. I hopes she gets something she is after. All the best with your editing.
I am stressed about the third rewrite of my memoir. Not feeling up to it. I am feeling like half the writer I need to be. Know what I mean?
Have a lovely Friday π
Cares: I have to work tomorrow. Yuck. It's making Friday not so great… but after tomorrow… W-2's are done! WOOHOO
Concerns: Hubby's had a fever off and on all week… with pretty much no (or little) other symptoms. Hrm..
Celebrations: *points to belly* still celebrating!
My celebrations: had a "lightbulb" moment in my plotting (always a hands-in-the-air moment) and planning a trip to Disney World. Feeling very blessed at the moment. π
Yay for Brogan! And yay for you for almost getting your rewrites finished! Great job!
My concerns: I'm tired. Taking a week off work has been kicking my…well…you know. I am hoping to rejuvenate this weekend, get the house in order, and revell in my revisions. π
In light of recent events, concerns that I thought were big for me are put in perspective. Blessed indeed. Enjoy your unplugged week.
Ooh, I hope you get that ending done in an awesome way!
I forgot today is when Rachelle's inbox is opening up. *shudder* I just read her tweets and it sounds like she's already swamped with client stuff, let alone queries.
Have a wonderful weekend and unplug time. π
