And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good. -Deuteronomy 10:13
Not because God is a wet blanket and wants to steal our fun.
But because He’s God and He knows what leads to freedom and joy.
Let’s Talk: Can you talk about a time when obedience led to freedom in your life?
Mrs. Mommy Booknerd interviewed me on her blog today! She asks me a bunch of fun questions and she’s giving away 2 copies of my debut novel. So if you’d like a FREE book (either for yourself or to give as a gift), hop on over and enter. Contest ends in a week.
I don’t like to think that I’m an unforgiving person, but I’ve definitely had a couple times where I’ve had to make the choice to forgive when it sooo was not easy…and usually it didn’t happen quickly. But it was for my good to finally obey. Definitely.
I’m not rebellious by nature, but I know there have been times I’ve stomped and pouted when things didn’t go my way.
But in the end, God was there. He drew me close. He comforted me, even in my whining. And I learned that He loves me. Even when I didn’t get what I thought I wanted.
Because what I really want–deep down–is God’s best. Even if that doesn’t look like what I thought it did. Even if it’s hard. Because it means I’ll become more like him.
AMEN, Lindsay. So much truth here.
This is a little personal, but God has blessed intimacy in my marriage.
Okay then. 😉 Happy Wed.!
This is why I love you, Wendy.
