Pinterest War: Battle Two Results

celebratory cakes

In honor of the release of Wishing on Willows, Becky Wade threw down a celebratory cake challenge for the second battle of our Pinterest War. The results are in! In fact, the results are above.

Becky and I give this one a B- for the amount of effort required since it took some time and concentration.

A D for kid fun, since we both ended up doing this one solo.

An A- for beauty and resemblance to the original. (Okay, so I give Becky’s an A- for beauty and resemblance. I’m still not quite sure what to think about that puddle of frosting coagulating around the bottom layer of mine. I may or may not have decided to melt the frosting in the microwave and pour it on the cake instead of using an old-fashioned spatula. Hence, the blob cake.)

I also give myself an A+ for resourcefulness. Notice, my buttons are not really buttons. And I used floss. Also, chopsticks.

We are going to announce the winners of this week’s prizes tomorrow morning on our Facebook pages!

Which means you have one more day to jump in and make a cake of your own (for 5 entries) or share this contest on social media (for one entry) to enter to win one of FIVE prizes!

  • $25 gift card to your choice of Amazon or Barnes and Noble
  • 3 copies of Wishing on Willows by Katie Ganshert
  • An advanced copy of Undeniably Yours by Becky Wade

Battle three is next week! It’s my turn to throw something down. It just might have something to do with Easter.

Let’s Talk: What say you? Pinterest fail or nail?

Join the Wishing on Willows Scavenger Hunt for a chance to win a bundle of FREE books from my publisher. All you have to do is find Wishing on Willows on a shelf in a store (if you’re in Walmart, you might just find it there), snap a picture, and post on your blog (email me the link), Facebook (tag me in the picture), or Twitter (tag me in the tweet), and you’re entered to win!

Are you on Twitter? Join the #WillowTalk Twitter Event. The last week of April, tweet a review or tweet your favorite lines from Wishing on Willows, make sure to use the #WillowTalk hashtag, and you could win three books from my publisher, plus a $5 gift card to Starbucks. There will be 25 winners! Please RSVP here!

Battle Two: A Celebratory Cake and Giveaways!

celebratory cakeWeek Two of the Pinterest War between author Becky Wade and myself is a cake.

In fact, it’s a celebratory cake.

Becky is challenging me and YOU to recreate the cake above in celebration of the release of my second novel, Wishing on Willows, which hits stores tomorrow, March 19th!

And this time, we’re looking for a little more reader involvement!

So to give you a little incentive to join in the fun, we are giving away prizes!

  • And courtesy of Becky Wade, a $25 gift card to the winner’s choice of either Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

That’s 5 different opportunities to win!

Every person who attempts to re-create the cake above and posts their picture on Becky’s Facebook page, my Facebook page, or Twitter (make sure to tag us) will receive five entries into the hat.

Every person who shares this blog post or Becky’s Facebook post and leaves a comment here letting us know they shared on either Twitter or Facebook, will receive one entry into the hat.

On Friday, not only will Becky and I post pictures of our cake creations, we will draw winners for the prizes!

Also, don’t forget to mark your calendar for tomorrow, March 19th, 6 pm, CST for the Wishing on Willows Extravaganza! I’ll be streaming live via video, chatting with readers and giving away a slew of prizes. Plus, two of my favorite authors are joining in the fun–our very own, Becky Wade, and another great friend, Courtney Walsh! Both ladies are giving away copies of their books too! To see the prizes, visit the extravaganza page and don’t forget to RSVP!

It’s also your last day to receive a complimentary set of 7 devotionals with your pre-order of Wishing on Willows. My publisher made them all pretty looking!

Let’s Talk: When’s the last time you baked a cake? Are you any good at it?

Both Becky and I have Pinterest War boards on Pinterest. Follow Becky’s board or my board to stay updated! If you post your challenges to Pinterest, let us know and we’ll repin them to our boards!
