A few weeks ago, my publishing house had a big sales conference. As a fun way to promote my book, we did an interview. With me as interviewee and my husband as interviewer.
The original version had a lot more questions and back and forth banter, but since I am incredibly long-winded and six minutes is entirely too long for a promo video, they narrowed it down to one question.
What are my hopes for my book?
I hope you enjoy!
And just for fun, here’s an after-the-scenes interview snippet of me and the hubs. He was such a good sport through all of this!
Let’s Talk: Tell me what you’re up to this weekend!
Isn’t it so fun to have your husband support you in so many ways?! You two look great together and look like you really enjoy one another. Great vlog!
Thanks Sherri! Yep, I have a pretty amazing hubby. He blesses my socks off. π
Such a fun interview and to be able to hear you both “in real life” π I was just reading a blog where someone read four books this week…I’m still on my first. What can I say, taking care of kids doesn’t leave much time for reading … I’m so ready for my Christmas break- a week off!! Yay! hope you and your family are doing well and the adoption is moving along
Four books in a week!? Wow! I’m lucky if I get a full one read in one month!
The adoption is moving along….we’re slowly but surely checking things off our loooong list!
I hope you’re having a great weekend Bethany!
Hi Katie –
It’s good to be back after all the computer problems. I wasn’t able to view the video because my speakers are still not working.
We’re going to a cookie swap and an open house. Somewhere in between, we need to do some Christmas shopping.
Blessings,
Susan π
A cookie swap sounds like way too much fun! Love seeing you over here, Susan. π
What a trooper your husband is! You two are so cute…Hollywood material, indeed!
You two are so stinkin’ cute. π
Team Ganshert! Love it.
Oh. My. Word.
Please, may I totally copy-cat you?
Totally brilliant and fun!
Loved this!
You’re husband wins “best husband” award.
He may share it with my husband who gave me a Christmas present early: a Tebow jersey!
Copy-cat away, Beth!! It wasn’t my idea anyway. It was my awesome editor’s idea. She asked if my hubby would be up for it. Ryan said yes. And there we go!
Loved the pic on FB with the Tebow jersey!
LOL! I loved that. π Such a good idea to get your hubby in on the video, so good to see you two together in an active shot like this. You two are pretty much the cutest couple I’ve ever seen. ;-D
It was fun to do together, that’s for sure! Ryan was a bit hesitant at first, but he was such a good sport! He really hates any sort of spotlight. He’s much more of a behind-the-scenes kind of guy.
He seems like that kind of guy, but it was so neat that he did it anyway. You write romance after all! π
How awesome that you and Ryan did this together – LOVE it!! Y’all are just too cute for words. So many people will be able to relate with your main character. She struggles with “big picture” faith, but I believe all of us struggle at some point with some aspect of faith, whether it’s trust, fear, or fill in the blank. Can’t wait to read it!
Bethany really struggles with trust. That’s her big obstacle to God. I hope readers will be able to relate to it!
Thanks for the kind words, Donna!
Katie, that cracked me up! π
This weekend is going to be a whirlwind of grading and performing. My church does a big show every Christmas with lights, choir, drama, and orchestra. I’ve got a solo and get to dress up in 18th-century garb. Should be fun! I’ll try to post a pic on Facebook or something. But yeah, with 5 performances, it’s a bit exhausting by the end of the weekend. I usually feel like I need another weekend to make up for it. Ha.
Wow – Lindsay that sounds both super fun and super exhausting! How cool that you have a solo! Wish I could see it. Let me know how it goes!!
Rollin’, Candy, Hollywood!
‘nough said! π
Man, watching stuff like this reminds me why I call you my good, good friend. You two rocked the house of videos!
What are you drinking?
~ Wendy
You mean during the interview? Funny story. We did like, three takes. So in that final version, I think we are drinking the very dredges of cold tea.
Such a great idea!!! Love it :O)
OK! That’s just hilarious (the behind the scenes)! Great interview and so much fun!! Awesome job!
Thanks Jessica!
Okay, I’ll just ignore the fact that I’m insanely jealous of how model-like and beautiful you both are. Geez, some people get all the good genes, I tell ya. π
Anywho, I loved this video and loved getting a sneak peek into what awaits me in your book.
Have a great weekend, Katie!
Oh Sarah – we are so not model like. We just put on our pretty masks for that video. Trust me, if you saw me right now….with bed head and broken glasses (yes, I’m too lazy to get my glasses fixed), you would not be jealous in the slightest.
You and your hubby are so dang fun! I’m definitely moving to Iowa. Think of all the fun we would have.
Ryan was a great sport. Loved it!
Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it….
You two are so cute! Thanks for the laugh this morning.
p.s. I love the hopes you have for your book!
Thanks, Barb! Glad to provide a laugh. π
Snort. You guys are such dorks. I love it! And I can’t wait to read the book. I could use some redemption. Hope the adoption process is still going well xx
Dorks. Goobs. They are pretty much the same thing, right? Regardless, we love being dorky goobs together.
I think we ALL can use some redemption! I hope you enjoy the book Sally.
And the adoption process is going well so far! We’re both getting our physicals today and Monday and fingerprints today. So we’re trucking right along with our very long to-do list!
Wow! Love the team video. What fun to see and hear your guy. Great job!
Thanks Keli! It was a fun experience to do together. We got pretty darn goofy during parts of it.
AH!! RYAN!! love him, love it, love you. love it, love it. i’ve never met him, of course, as it’s way fun to see him on here. you are both goobs. π
this weekend i’m gearing up for my last week or work before THREE WEEKS OF MUCH-NEEDED VACATION!! lordy, lordy, i need it.
Three weeks!! Yay, Jeannie! I know you’ve had a very rough month or so of intense work, so I am very happy you get three weeks off to recuperate!
And yes, we are definitely both goobs. Which is one reason why I love being married to the guy. π
