Friday Favorite: Bedtime Prayers

Friday FavoritesIf you’re friends with me on Facebook, then you know my 4-year old son is constantly saying funny things.

One of my favorites?

His bedtime prayers.

Like this one, just last night…

Dear God, I love you. You are stronger than Spinosaurus. And you can walk on water. I can’t walk on water so I’m not God. I would drown. But I can walk on my tiptoes in the swimming pool.Β  Thank you for being God. And thank you for mommy and daddy. I love them. Amen.

Let’s Talk: Any cute kids-say-the-darndest-things stories?

  2. So, so sweet.

My almost five-year-old always thanks God for TV and video games and for eating and for, well, everything he’s done all day. Doesn’t it just melt your heart to hear them praying at such a young age and just bringing all of it to God and being so honest? Love it! What a treasure, Katie. πŸ™‚

  4. Oh my goodness, that is soooo cute! Yes, mine say adorable things. I wish I could memorize everything they’ve said. πŸ™‚

  5. That is adorable. A cute moment with one of my kids… my son, who was just 2 years old, would not stop crying all day. He was wearing me down. There was nothing I could do to or say. His dad came in and said, “Brian, stop crying right now. There is no reason for it.” Brian responded, “I can’t help it. It’s my heart that’s making me do it.” To which of course my heart melted and a big smile came over both his dad’s face and mine.

But of course! Who’s Spinosarus, though??
You’ve got a cute kid, Katie! And I remember on Living Proof by Beth Moore’s blog around this time last year, people were sharing some of their favorite funny moments – a lot of them involving kids. Here. I’ll look for the post and anytime you or anyone find the time to scroll through the comments, I invite you to! I think you`ll find something funny. πŸ™‚ Just in case you need a good laugh.

Oooo! Can’t wait to look at it! Spinosaurus, my dear Ganise, is only the most coolest dinosaur ever. At least Brogan thinks so. πŸ™‚

  8. Hi Katie, that is just the sweetest prayer every. You are wise to write these down to savor and remember. My kids are all grown and I miss those prayers . . . but now I have grandkids to enjoy, and that sweet too! Blessings, Carrie
