My Bookshelf

You know what would be fabulous? If I could clone myself and have Me One do all the reading and Me Two do all the writing, then have the two get together and chat at the end of each day. Until that happens, I will continue to have stacks of books on my nightstand and never enough time to get through them as quickly as I’d like.

I hope you enjoy my bookshelf and  find some new books and authors to read!

I just finished:

  • Into the Free by Julie Cantrell
    • Wow! This book grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. Captivating prose combined with captivating characters make it a book that isn’t easy to put down. A great book club book! Especially in light of some things that transpire at the end. I know I’d love to discuss them!

Right now I’m reading:

  • A Sound Among the Trees by Susan Meissner
    • I love ALL of Meissner’s books and so far, this one isn’t disappointing! Definitely an air of mystery!
  • Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
    • This is a young adult novel that’s been getting great reviews. So far, so good! But can I just say, I felt kinda silly asking the librarian about the title?

What’s Up Next?

  • Waterfall by Lisa T. Bergren
  • Exposed by Ashley Weis
  • The Girl in the Gatehouse by Julie Klassen

Recent Favorites and Great for Book Clubs:

  • The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh
  • Little Bee by Chris Cleave
  • Peace Like a River by Leif Enger

All time favorites (I could read these over and over again):
  • Mark of the Lion trilogy by Francine Rivers
    • I’ve never fallen more in love with a character than I did with Hadassah. The first book, A Voice in the Wind, starts off a bit slow, but push through! I promise you won’t be disappointed!
  • Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Guilty Pleasure Reads:
  • The Twilight series. I can’t help myself. I love me some Edward and Bella.  I will admit, Breaking Dawn got a bit whackadoo.
