Friday 3 C’s

 How is it Friday already!?

Low key week here in the Ganshert household.

No concerns (except for a lost pair of glasses). No big celebrations. Just some good old fashioned fun.

We went to the zoo.

We went to the pool.

I worked on line edits.

I love how relaxing the tail end of summer has been in my little corner of the universe.

Let’s Talk: What are your cares, concerns, and celebrations? How’s the end of summer been treating you?

  1. I’ve got to get better at visiting blog buddies! But I have some answers for you.

Celebrations – I have a new agent, a new church position, and a new series to pitch.
Cares – I have a new agent, a new church position, and a new series to pitch!
Concerns – Failing. Really hate to mess up, especially if my mistakes hurt another person or ministry.

  2. Hi Katie,

Well, its about time you had a low-cares week! Good for you.

Cares: I need to sell baby goats and gear up a for a garage sale – I want my goats to go to good homes and I want my junk OFF my property…but I HATE having garage sales. But I MUST have a garage sale. But I HATE having…. you get my point.

Concerns: I am driving up to Fresno tomorrow with my mom and back again (5 hrs each way) for the funeral of a special friend. Traveling mercies, the right words to say, and good conversation in the car with my mom. I haven’t spent this much time alone with her in one sitting in…well, I don’t know that I’ve ever spent this much time alone just me and Mom. Big family and all.

Celebrations: New baby goats born yesterday – so stinkin’ cute! The process of birth blows my mind – especially in the animal kingdom where good mothering is an instinct that comes so naturally and so beautifully. Wow.

Hey – my comment is longer than your post!!!! Something’s not right with that.

    Blessings,
    Becky

Hey – your comment can be longer than my post anytime you’d like!

I’m amazed at nature. Always points to a Creator for me. Renews my faith. What a gift that you get to see it unfold in front of you.

Prayers for you and your mom as you travel.

  3. Yay for a quiet week! 🙂

Cares: Getting over this stupid end of summer cold.

Concerns: Getting galley’s returned when I’m blitzed on cold meds.

Celebrations: Church renovations, of which I am sort of de facto in charge, are going well and will be mostly done by the end of next week!

Hey Miss Erica! I’ve been thinking about you lately! Book for cold meds. And yay for good church renovations!

  4. I had a funeral to attend this week–and that’s where my cares and concerns were.

As for celebration–the reality of eternity. And really good morning coffee. 🙂

That is definitely something to celebrate. The eternity thing, not the coffee thing. I’ll never understand the coffee thing.

So sorry about the funeral, Melissa. Even with the reality of eternity for those who believe, it still hurts losing somebody we love.

  5. So happy for you that things are calm in your corner.

I started a new book, Humor Helps, this week! I’m having so much fun with it!

My cares and concerns are the opposite of Miss Skinny Pants up there. My jeans are shrinking, and I don’t think it’s all due to the dryer settings. I totally need to lose some weight before I turn into Donut Bottom.

      Donut Bottom! Oh, that’s classic.

How fun about your new book, Jeanette!

  6. Hey lady,
It feels like forever since we talked. Ha! Such a spoofer I am (I love how in Peter Pan the boys…you know, the lost ones, call it spoofin’).

    Anyhoo…
Cares: How crazy deep my emotions go.
Concerns: Letting go, forgiving, getting where I want to be with God…
Celebrations: People like you in my life. 😀 School is starting next week and I get to start writing my next novel! Woot.

I think deep emotions comes with being a writer. Sometimes I wonder what comes first. The deep emotions lead us to write. Or the writing leads us to feel deep emotions.

Sort of the chicken and the egg dilemma.

      Love you friend!

  7. This summer’s treated me very well. My wife’s pregnant with twins and I got to reveal the cover of my first novel today!

I am beyond excited and happy for you and your wife, Paul! Seriously….I might have teared up when I read your comment.

    2. Paul, Congratulations on both (or should I say all three counts).

  8. Celebrations: I fit back into my pre-baby jeans!

Concerns: I should probably lay-off the unrestrained celebratory chocolate indulgence before I eat myself back out of them.

Cares: They need a wash. Which I can’t bring myself to do because then I won’t fit back into them again. So I’m wearing skinny jeans that smell like dust mites?

And yes I realize it’s shallow. But my son is eleven months old and my sister walked out of the hospital in her pre-baby jeans. My self esteem needed it.

Kara – you crack me up! Just spray the jeans with some detergent-scented body spray and tell yourself they’re fresh from the dryer.

Congrats on getting back into those jeans, girl!
